Last year our persimmon butter was a hit with our community, so we wanted to reimagine an east meets west holiday treat. Quintessential for fall mornings and fireside evenings, our sweet and tangy blend of seasonal tart green plum and herbaceous shiso leaf with hints of warming cardamom captures the season's essence in a small batch, zero~waste butter inspired by California with a nod to our love of Japan.
Don't forget to refrigerate after opening.

Our consciously sourced shiso leaves are made from the pickled red Beefsteak leaf, which utilizes an ancient and traditional process. While our upcycled Green Gage Plums are seconds and thirds (which would be otherwise wasted) and are sourced from a sunny south-facing orchard in California with well drained alluvial soil, free of spring frosts, and ample water for irrigation.

We love good packaging. Even better, packaging that does good. That’s why we’re constantly researching the latest innovations in order to create the most planet friendly packaging possible.
We source our jars from a local, family-owned business that specializes in carbon-friendly, USA-made glass jars with no plastic liners. Best part: they can be reused in the kitchen or home for, well, ever. More ideas on that here.
We believe in small steps. Reusing an old jar. Eating more veggies. Simple, mindful actions that add up. Make sense. Make a difference. Because, the truth is, we eat and drink...a lot. In fact, our consumption accounts for a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions - one of the largest contributors to climate change. Good news is, we can do something about it.
