V~Into: February 2024

More is more in this month of love.

Life is fuller with togetherness. Whoever that someone is for you in your life - and always starting with love for yourself, love to us is about abundance. Come celebrate dynamic duos with us across food, art, culture, and community.

Currently eating: west~bourne x Casa Bosques Pistachio Dukkah Chocolate

This upcycled chocolate bar represents a zero-waste food system that deeply respects the natural environment. A decadent experience for the table and the tongue. A regenerative future informed by the ancient traditions of the past. At west~bourne, we believe that nothing goes to waste, so when the first production run of our beloved pistachio dukkah was accidentally over-ground, we came together with artisanal chocolatiers Casa Bosques to reimagine it. With each bite, a step towards a better shared planet.

Art that Inspires: Gentyl and Hyers

Andrea Gentl and Martin Hyers are the New York based photography duo Gentl and Hyers. Tenured and deeply experienced through twenty-five years of shared life and creativity, their exceptional talent has allowed them to capture and collaborate with the world's leading tastemakers, chefs, and culinary pioneers.

They met while studying photography at Parsons School of Design and have been together, in life and work, ever since. Best known for signature light, hard shadows and thoughtful compositions, their imagery tells a distinct story, entirely their own. They find everlasting inspiration in their explorations and adventures and are happiest when wandering in a far-off land, camera in hand, connecting with people.

Back to Basics

We're stripping it back to basics this month - on vinyl. What's old is new and we are loving rediscovering the classics and bringing intention back into our listening habits. Our new go to spot to shop? Paradise City Records.

Book we can't put down: The White Album by Joan Didion

First published in 1979, Joan Didion's The White Album records indelibly the upheavals and aftermaths of the 1960s. Examining key events, figures, and trends of the era—including Charles Manson, the Black Panthers, and the shopping mall—through the lens of her own spiritual confusion, Joan Didion helped to define mass culture as we now understand it. Written with a commanding sureness of tone and linguistic precision, The White Album is a central text of American reportage and a classic of American autobiography.

Like-Minded Community: White Buffalo Land Trust

The White Buffalo Land Trust is a global hub for regenerative land stewardship, ecological monitoring, education, and training - based out of Jalama Canyon Ranch in Lompoc, CA. The Land trust practices, promotes, and develops systems of regenerative agriculture for local, regional, and global impact.

Scent that sets the mood: Pasta Water Candle

The Pasta Water Candle is a collaboration between DS & Durga and Jupiter, a pasta-centric restaurant at Rockefeller Center in New York. The candle scent is gender neutral and inspired by Jupiter's pasta, with an earthy, umami depth amid steamy, salted water.

Watching: The Buccaneers

A group of fun-loving American girls burst onto the scene in tightly corseted 1870s London, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash. Sent to secure husbands and status, the buccaneers hearts are set on much more than that.

Two is better than one: Burn No. 2 Massage Candle By Maude

Once melted and extinguished, this candle can be poured on the skin for a tantalizing two in one experience. Pink pepper, gurjun balsam, lemon California, and cedarwood Virginia combine to create this bright scent. Made with skin-softening jojoba and soybean oils, this hand-poured massage candle is made with a 100% cotton, lead-free wick and cruelty-free ingredients.

Design we love: Bode shirts to share

Bode is an American luxury brand that expresses a sentimentality for the past through the study of personal narratives and historical techniques. Cut from antique fabrics, victorian quilts, grain sacks, and bed linens - their shirts are impeccably designed and can be incorporate into any shared closet seamlessly.
