Heirloom Tomato Galette
As the sun begins to re-emerge, so do the tomatoes. A galette is the perfect and simple way to use tomatoes this season. A staple in so many cultures that could be served any time of day.
This no-recipe recipe is easy, delicious, and gorgeous - using west~bourne Avocado Oil, Cabot Cheddar and juicy heirloom tomatoes.
Ingredients:
- Pie crust of your choice (try making yours with 100% Avocado Oil)
- 1/2 cup grated Cabbot Cheddar or cheese of your choice
- 2-3 Farmers Market Heirloom Tomatoes, sliced
- 1-2 cloves Garlic, grated
- west~bourne Extra Virgin Avocado Oil
- Flaky Salt
Assemble:
Roll out you pie dough to roughly a 10-12 inch circle. Sprinkle grated cheese all over the base, leaving a 1-2 inch ring around the edge. Arrange tomato slices on top of the cheese - don't be afraid of overlapping as the tomatoes will shrink in the oven! Drizzle with the tomatoes with Extra Virgin Avocado Oil and sprinkle with salt, grated garlic, cumin and pepper. Fold in the edges to tuck the toppings in tightly. Pop into the oven until the crust is crispy and golden. Savor and share, the ultimate summer centerpiece.
